Datang Zhangzhou Wind Power Co Ltd. Developed the Fujian Zhangpu Liuao 45 MW Wind Power Project, located in Liuao town, Zhangpu County, Fujian Province, China. It consists of 36 wind turbines, manufactured by Suzlon, with 1250 kW capacity each. It supplies 95,602 MWh of clean electricity per year to the East China Grid.

Standard
This project is registered as Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) as of 21 January 2008 with reference number 1318. In addition, the project has obtained Gold Standard CDM registration in late 2007, with registred project number GS 375. The project started generating Gold Standard CERs on 21 January 2008. The first issuance occured on August 2008.
Baseline Methodology
The baseline carbon emission factor was calculated using UNFCCC consolidated methodology ACM0002. The baseline was validated by the accredited designated operational (DOE) entity TÜV SÜD on 30 August 2007.
Additionality
The additionality is demonstrated using the “CDM Tool for Additionality”. The investment analysis method was chosen and was validated by TÜV SÜD.
Why we purchased it?
This is the first CDM project in China which has been registered under the Gold Standard. The deal between the then-named Essent Trading and Datang Zhangzhou was recognised by magazine “Energy risk” as deal of the year 2007. Gold Standard CDM ensures the highest quality assurance label on the voluntary and compliance carbon market. It ensures that the project contributes to sustainable development and is fully accepted by stakeholders.
