With 10 years experience in the energy markets, David is perfectly placed to manage the market research and analysis team at Essent Trading. His team is responsible for providing market analysis across the entire range of energy markets, to assist the front office in identifying trading opportunities and originators in pursuing opportunities to further the merchant strategy. In addition, David and his team provide invaluable insight for Essent which form the basis of long term investment and acquisition strategy.

Prior to joining Essent Trading, David worked as a Senior Fundamental Market Analyst at NUON Energy Sourcing, his key projects included investment appraisal of renewable power supplies, for example, a €100 million North Sea Wind offshore park development.

David holds a PhD in Energy Economics and B ENG in Electrical Engineering from the University of Edinburgh.
